The Heavens Declare The Glory Of God!

You ask me how I know it’s true that there is a living God…

A God who rules the universe, the sky… the sea…the sod;

A God who holds all creatures in the hollow of His hand;

A God who put infinity in one tiny grain of sand;

A God who made the seasons…

winter, summer, fall and spring,

And put His flawless rhythm into each created thing;

A God who hangs the sun out slowly with the break of day,

And gently takes the stars in and puts the night away;

A God whose mighty handiwork defies the skill of man,

For no architect can alter God’s perfect master plan…

What better answers are there to prove His Holy being

Than the wonders all around us that are ours just for the seeing.

The Way To God…

If my days were untroubled and my heart always light

Would I seek that fair land where there is no night;

If I never grew weary with the weight of my load

Would I search for God’s peace at the end of the road;

If I never knew sickness and never felt pain

Would I reach for a hand to help sustain;

If I walked not with sorrow and lived without loss

Would my soul seek sweet solace at the foot of the cross;

If all I desired was mine day by day

Would I kneel before God and earnestly pray;

If God sent no winter to freeze me with fear

Would I yearn for the warmth of spring every year;

I ask myself this and the answer is plain…

If my life were all pleasure and I never knew pain

I’d seek God less often and need Him much less,

For God’s sought more often in times of distress,

And no one knows God or sees Him as plain

As those who have met Him on the pathway of pain.

Thank You God, For Everything!

Thank You God, for everything, the big things and the small,

For every good gift comes from God the giver of them all.

And all too often we accept without any thanks or praise,

The gifts God sends as blessings each day in many ways

And so at this Thanksgiving time we offer up a prayer

To thank You, God for giving us a lot more than our share…

First, thank You for the the little things that often come our way,

The things we take for granted but don’t mention when we pray,

The unexpected courtesy, the thoughtful, kindly deed,

A hand reached out to help us in the time of sudden need…

Oh, make us more aware, dear God, of little daily graces

That come to us with sweet surprise from never-dreamed-of places.. .

Then, thank You for the miracles we are much too blind to see,

And give us new awareness of our many gifts from Thee,

And help us to remember that the key to life and living

Is to make each prayer a prayer of thanks

And every day Thanksgiving.

Gods’ Indescribable Gift…

Christmas is not about giving and receiving material gifts, it is about Gods’ indescribable gift to humanity. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Thanks  be to God for His indescribable gift!

Anthony James

Shekinah Art Gallery would like to introduce and welcome their newest featured Artist, Anthony James.
Born and raised in St Clair Shores, Michigan, Mr.James plans to live there for the rest of his life. Anthony states ” I love the state of Michigan; it has so much to offer.” For 20 years of his early adult life he was fraught with many personal trials and tribulations, he turned to the Bible in order to find peace and
understanding in his life. He also turned to art as a means of expressing himself, he has always loved art from an early age since his first visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts as a young boy. It seemed a natural course to follow to combine his spiritual studies with his love of art. “As I would read a particular passage, images would come to mind which I would then create into a work of art. All my works are based on New Testament text.”
Today Anthony is widowed and lives alone. He maintains his studio in his home town where he is close to family and friends.  While he creates works of art in many different genre’s and styles he is currently working on a new series of inspirational art using found and acquired objects such as stone, glass, metal and fabric.” I’m
totally loosening the bounds of my creative process and am happy to share my art with others as I try to live the life of harmlessness that Jesus taught us.”Anthony is a self-taught artist and his lessons in art, as in life, never cease as he is continually learning . He can name off many artists throughout history who has inspired him, but names only one in particular: Vincent VanGogh; “I believe the reason he was not well received as an artist during his life was simply because he was ahead of his time; his style of art, which was very expressionistic, was butting heads with the Impressionist movement.” Anthony has studied many artist from early history to present day and he believes that what draws him most to art is the act of creating and the sense of accomplishment when creating something of a positive and affirmative nature, especially if it has deep significance. He has won awards, notably at the University of Michigan juried art shows where he was honored with 1st place three consecutive years. Many of his works are hanging in  private and corporate collections.

Animal Symbols: The Eagle

EAGLE : The eagle is symbolic of the resurrection and of renewal (Isaiah 40:31).  The eagle is a symbol of St. John, referring to the prophecy in Ezekiel 1:5,10 dealing with the four living creatures. John was likened to the eagle because he aspired to soar ever higher seeking the truths of God.

Unto Us A Child Is Born…..

Isaiah 9:6-7 (New King James Version)

6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
